Swiss private bank Bank J Safra Sarasin has named Vinay Gandhi as its managing director and CEO for its newly created ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) division in Asia.

Based in Singapore, Gandhi will be responsible for managing ultra-rich clients across all markets in Asia. He will report to Sarasin Asia CEO Enid Yip.

Gandhi, wwho has an experience of about 25 years in the Asia wealth management industry, most recently served as a managing director and regional market manager for UHNW for Southeast Asia at UBS.

At UBS, he was primarily tasked with catering to UHNW clients in Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand, and global NRI clients. 

Before joining UBS, he headed Deutsche Bank’s south Asian private banking division in Singapore, as well as held senior positions at Citigroup Private Bank and Commerzbank in Asia.
