Swiss wealth manager Credit Suisse has named David Miller as the CEO of Investment Banking and Capital Markets (IBCM) as part of a broader overhaul, and many hires, at the unit.
Miller replaces James Amine, who will now become the head of private credit opportunities.

By GlobalDataMiller has held various roles at the bank, latterly as the global head of credit, head of global credit products and part of the global markets management committee.
Both Miller and James Amine have been working at Credit Suisse for 22 years.
Credit Suisse CEO Tidjane Thiam said: “David is widely recognised as an outstanding leader with many years of experience. He has developed one of the best performing franchises of the bank in his previous role, innovating and delivering effective solutions for our clients.
“His client focus, his deep understanding of markets, his people leadership skills as well as his execution capabilities will put him in a strong position to lead IBCM forward.”
In the newly created position, Amine will operate out of New York and report to Eric Varvel who has now been named as the new chairman of IBCM.
Varvel succeeds Harold Bogle who will now serve as vice-chairman, group executive office.
In addition to the new role, Varvel will retain the existing roles of CEO of asset management and president and CEO of Credit Suisse Holdings (USA).
In his three-decade-long career at Credit Suisse, he worked in various roles including CEO of investment banking division, CEO of Asia Pacific, CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa and chairman Middle East, Asia and sovereign wealth funds.
Bogle has been working at Credit Suisse since 1981 and has served in roles including the global head of financial sponsor coverage and co-head equity capital markets-Europe.
