Alcala has over 20 years of experience in the sector. Prior to joining BNY, she spent ten years at William Blair as director of wealth planning. Before that, she was a vice president in the family wealth management group at Credit Suisse.

Previous to that, she worked in public accounting at RSM, Deloitte, and Arthur Anderson & Co.

“Julie’s strong network and deep understanding of the Chicago market will support our team in growing relationships and enhancing our offering to clients,” Kuhlman said.

“These strengths, coupled with her wealth management experience, make her an indispensable resource for our clients and the Chicago team.”

BNY Mellon moves

BNY Mellon’s Pershing, which offers financial business solutions, has tapped Goldman Sachs executive Emily Schlosser as its new COO.

Schlosser as COO will also sit on the Pershing executive committee.

In the new role, she will be in charge of the firm’s operational functions and guide the firm’s strategic direction.

Furthermore, it hired Dan Steinberg as a senior wealth manager.

Based in Newport Beach, CA, Steinberg will be responsible for advising HNW clients and family offices. He will report to managing director Chad Johnsrud.

In February, BNY Mellon selected Liontrust Asset Management as the first end-to-end client on its new Investment Operations platform.

The platform’s purpose is to improve automation and integration capabilities, as well as offer enhanced data management and control capabilities to institutional asset managers.

Investment Operations will cover the same capabilities as Middle Office Solutions, including services to support the needs of the institutional asset management client base.

The Investment Operations platform also provides modular data capabilities for greater operational transparency and integration to outsource services and operations.
