The move is aimed at strengthening its US wealth management business and its new remote financial advice offering.

JP Morgan’s National Branch complements its US wealth management business offering, consisting of advisers working in branches and offices in Arizona and across the country, as well as digital self-directed online platforms.

JPMorgan Chase has more than 200 branches in Arizona, of which more than 150 branches are said to be in the metro Phoenix area.

JP Morgan Wealth Management head of National Branch Boaz Lahovitsky said: “National Branch adds to the exceptional service we offer from branches and offices and gives us the capacity to truly serve our clients how, where and when they want.

“The Phoenix metro area will play a crucial role in the expansion of our remote advice offering and shows JP Morgan’s continued commitment to the city.”

National Branch business execution director Tyler Craig will lead the expansion in Arizona.

Commenting on the development, Craig said: “Phoenix’s thriving job market, high quality of life and diverse talent pool are a natural match to J.P. Morgan’s strong values, tradition and culture.

“We are looking for individuals who are passionate about building relationships with clients while helping them achieve their goals through sound financial planning and who can help us foster a culture of excellence, diversity and inclusion.”

Meanwhile, this January, it was reported that JPMorgan is in initial talks with China Merchants Bank to set up a Chinese wealth management joint venture.

Besides, last month, a report said that JPMorgan is withdrawing from its private banking operations in Mexico and has entered into an agreement to refer the business to BBVA Mexico.
