Mizuho Securities Asia has hired Damian Rowe as managing director and head of fixed income trading for Asia Pacific excluding Japan.

In his role, Rowe will oversee the ongoing investment into people and product capabilities in the company.

Rowe, who will be based in Hong Kong, will also be responsible for trading and managing the investment grade book for the company and its clients.

The appointment of Rowe is part of the company’s efforts to expand its client-focused pan-Asia fixed income sales and trading businesses.

Mizuho Securities Asia president and CEO Hideyuki Kawashima was quoted by as saying that the company’s fixed income business provides global clients a fixed income product platform and market information delivered by experienced professionals.

"Our expanding client list covers the world, with relationships that include central banks, banks, municipalities, hedge funds, asset managers and insurance companies," Kawashima.

Mizuho provides underwriting, trading and sales solutions to its clients globally.
