Robert Curtis, who has played a significant role in helping develop the bank’s expanded teams, serves as senior vice president, North Alabama market executive for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Banking at Cadence. John Maner, senior vice president, leads Business Banking for the bank’s Huntsville market, and the new Wealth team consists of Lisa Abbott and Chris Russell, both senior vice presidents in Private Banking, supported by Jill Anderson, senior client associate.

Curtisis charged with building and managing the Commercial Banking group for Huntsville and North Alabama. Heworks closely with commercial and middle market clients to develop and execute highly specialized financial solutions, augmented by sophisticated treasury management solutions and foreign exchange. During his diverse 25-year background in the financial services industry, Curtis has served in various roles, including executive-level positions within Retail Banking, Branch Administration, Private Banking, Wealth Management and Commercial Banking. Actively involved in industry organizations and the community, he has served as state president of the Alabama Young Bankers Association and chairman of ambassadors for the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, and also is a graduate of the Decatur/Morgan County Alabama Chamber Leadership Program. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Athens University and an Executive Banking Diploma from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University.
Maner is responsible for the development of a strong Business Banking team focused on maximizing internal and external alliances to best serve clients. With 23 years of industry experience, he has held various leadership roles in Business and Commercial Banking as well as Private Banking at top financial institutions serving Huntsville/Madison County, and has worked extensively with owner-managed businesses in the area. Most recently, Maner served as vice president of Business Banking at PNC. He previously worked in Business Banking at Regions Bank. Maner earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of North Alabama, and upon graduation completed a nine-month retail management training program at AmSouth Bank.
Abbott and Russell cumulatively bring nearly 35 years of experience in private banking and financial services at leading financial institutions in Huntsville. Their talent and expertise are a fitting combination with the full array of wealth-related services for every life stage available through Cadence, including wealth management, private banking, investment and trust services, financial planning, retirement plan management, insurance, and consumer lines and loans.
Both Abbott and Russell are active in the Huntsville community, where they are involved with the American Cancer Society, Leadership Huntsville and Rotary Clubs of Huntsville. Abbott is the current co-chair for the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Summer Lights Gala and a board member for Distinguished Young Women. She served as last year’s chair for local government at Leadership Huntsville. Russell serves as vice-chair and chair-elect of the Board of Directors for Leadership Huntsville. In 2012, he was recognized as the Professional Advisor of the Year by the Huntsville/Madison County Community Foundation, where he is the founding chairperson and a current board member. He is an honoree for the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Summer Lights Gala, and in 2009, he received theCommunity Volunteer of the Year award from the American Cancer Society’s Six-State Mid-South Region.
