New York-based ETF provider WisdomTree Investments has partnered with fintech firm 55ip to offer tax-smart model portfolios.
The tie-up results in a joint solution that leverages 55ip’s automated, tax-smart technology.
Slated to be available to advisors by this year-end, the solution is designed to help advisers transition clients easily into WisdomTree model portfolios with ongoing rebalancing and tax management, noted the ETF provider.
The aim is to enable advisers to manage their practices in a better way and improve client outcomes.
Commenting on the alliance, 55ip CEO Paul Gamble said: “Tax considerations are one of the most cited barriers to model portfolio transitions—and they’re getting in the way of clients making financial progress.
“We identified that pain point early and made it our mission to partner with leading asset managers like WisdomTree to offer advisers the tools they need to help clients leverage the power of models, and potentially improve after-tax outcomes.”

By GlobalDataThe tax-smart investment strategy engine of 55ip is designed to deliver an intuitive model portfolio selection and implementation experience through intelligent automation.
Advisers will benefit from tax-smart transitions, tax benefit reporting, in addition to analytic and proposal tools through the partnership, stated WisdomTree.
At the same time, the solution will be made available to additional channels including independent broker-dealers.
WisdomTree head of Product Solutions Tom Skrobe said: “The industry’s focus is increasingly turning to model portfolios, but the process of moving an existing portfolio into a model has continued to be time-intensive and costly. Our collaboration with 55ip significantly improves that process.
“Through the 55ip platform integration, advisers will be able to quickly assess the projected cost of the transition, engage in the transition and then manage the portfolio on an ongoing basis, with a high level of efficiency and transparency.”
