Exchange traded fund provider WisdomTree has named Christopher Gannatti as the new head of research for its European team.

In the new role, Gannatti will spearhead an analyst team consisting of associate director Nick Leung, senior quantitative associate Florian Ginez, director Nitesh Shah, and associate director Aneeka Gupta. Shah and Gupta have joined the firm after its takeover of ETF Securities.

Gannatti will support the UCITs platform globally, and ensure that clients gain insight into global macroeconomic and asset class-specific developments.

He will also work alongside the firm’s investors to educate them on equity markets, commodities, foreign exchange, fixed income as well as ETPs.

Gannatti most recently served as an associate director at WisdomTree’s New York office.

Before joining WisdomTree in 2010, Gannatti worked as a regional consultant at Lord Abbett.

WisdomTree Europe head David Abner said: “Gannatti is an exciting candidate for this role and his appointment reinforces our commitment to industry leading ETP research. This is a transformational time for WisdomTree as we add scale, diversification and profitability to our business in Europe with the acquisition of ETF Securities.

“We pride ourselves on providing clients with unique market insight to help educate and inform their investment decisions, and Christopher will play a pivotal role in enhancing our current research offering and overall strategy.”
