Wilmington Trust has named William Buccella as its new president of US markets for wealth advisory, and Ann Silverman as its president of private banking.

In the new role, Buccella will oversee the growth of the firm’s HNW wealth management arm and manage the delivery of wealth management services through a network of investment professionals, market leaders, regional leaders, and business partners. He will be based in Boston.

Buccella joined Wilmington Trust in 2017 and formerly was the firm’s president of private banking.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, he worked at Northern Trust Company, where he served as the president of private wealth management for the New England region and director of sales for the Northeast region.

His 30-year long financial career also includes stints at U.S. Trust, Merrill Lynch, Fleet Bank, and BayBank.

Based in New York, Silverman will now manage the delivery of private banking services to HNW families and business owners.

Silverman joined M&T Bank in 2004, which snapped up Wilmington Trust in 2011. She previously served as the group manager for private banking at Wilmington Trust.

Wilmington Trust executive vice president of wealth management Doris Meister said: “With their deep experience and expertise combined with their strong commitment to client service, Ann and Bill will lead their teams to new heights as they help our clients meet their needs, leverage opportunities and achieve their goals.”
