William Blair, a US-based investment banking and wealth management firm, has set up a new office in Baltimore, Maryland.
At the same time, the wealth manager hired seven wealth advisers.
The advisers are Perry Bacon, Darcy Carroll, Robert Hopkins, Robert Oster, Hunter Purcell, Philip Rauch, Mitchell Whiteman and Jennifer Viglucci.
Formerly, these advisers collectively oversaw over $3bn in assets at Baltimore’s Brown Advisory.
“In William Blair we find an independent, 84-year-old partnership that shares our focus of putting clients first and giving back to the community,” Hopkins noted.
William Blair managed over $33bn in private wealth assets at the end of December 2018.
The firm has more than 20 branches across the globe.

William Blair bolstered its New York team two years ago by hiring three financial advisers from Fieldpoint Private Advisors.
In 2016, William Blair launched a new private wealth office in Atlanta.
In the same year, the firm also strengthened its private wealth management team in Boston by hiring three financial advisers from Boston Private Wealth.
