Before joining Abbot Downing, Law worked seven years at U.S. Trust, where he provided estate and financial planning solutions for some of the firm’s largest clients. While there, he also educated colleagues regarding cutting edge estate planning techniques and changes in tax and estate laws. Further, he was responsible for writing white papers and speaking publicly on recent changes in the transfer and income tax laws that affected high net worth clients.

Prior to joining U.S. Trust, Law worked 13 years as an estate and tax attorney in Naples. Before attending law school, he was a certified public accountant at Price Waterhouse Coopers for three years. Law obtained his bachelor of business administration degree in accounting at Florida International University, his master of science in taxation degree from the University of Miami, his juris doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master of laws in taxation degree from the University of Florida.

Law lectures at the Florida Trust School and will be an adjunct professor at the Ave Maria University School of Law in 2014. Law currently serves in leadership positions in both the American Bar Association’s Real Property Trust and Estate Section and the Florida Bar’s Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section.
