Waverton Investment Management has appointed William Dinning as the new head of investment strategy and communications.
At Waverton, Dinning will be a part of the asset allocation committee and will be responsible for directing the external communication of the firm’s investment views to existing as well as potential clients.
He will also be tasked with co-ordinating Waverton’s top-down investment strategies and mentoring younger investment team members.
Dinning joins Waverton from Coal Pension Trustees, where he served as head of investment strategy. He also had stints at UBS Warburg, Merrill Lynch and Kames Capital during his career of more than three decades.
Waverton CEO Andrew Fleming said: “Having worked with Bill in establishing a great asset allocation track record at Kames, I am thrilled to have someone of his calibre join the team here at Waverton.
“His appointment follows that of Jennifer Fisher to the newly created role of Head of Equity Research in May. William will help strengthen our investment capabilities even further, and is an important hire at a time when firms will need to generate more of their own research in the post MIFID II environment.”
