Swiss asset manager Unigestion has expanded its reach in the Nordics by setting up an office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The new office will serve Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland as well as the Netherlands.

It is said to enable the firm to serve investors seeking unique investment strategies, such as bespoke ESG services.

The Copenhagen office will be headed by Per Lawӕtz Hansen. He joined the company as the head of Nordics in December last year.

Unigestion CEO Fiona Frick said: “Opening the Copenhagen office underlines our commitment to our growth strategy and investors across the Nordics.

“To ensure we can be successful in the region it’s important that we have a local presence with a deep understanding of the market. Per brings strong relationships and extensive knowledge that will help us to strengthen existing relationships and build a larger network in the region.”

In March this year, Unigestion set up a new office in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Düsseldorf location will house the firm’s German sales team, serving both institutional investors and intermediaries.

Last November, Unigestion hired Dominik Kremer from Columbia Threadneedle Investments to serve as its new head of business development and a member of its executive committee. The appointment was effective on 1 February 2019.
