Umpqua Bank has strengthened its wealth management team in Southern California by appointing Shaun Skeris and Rob Pitois as managing directors and Kathy Gamez and Veronica Rubio as private wealth advisers.
Both Skeris and Pitois will be based in Irvine, with responsibility for leading the firm’s wealth management teams across Northern and Southern California.

During his 20-year long wealth management career, Skeris has worked at Pioneer Wealth Partners, Anfield Group, PIMCO, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley.
Pitois has an experience of over 17 years in the financial services sector, and spent the past eight years as the private bank team leader for San Diego at City National Bank. He previously also served at U.S. Trust, Merrill Lynch, and Wells Fargo.
Gamez most recently was the senior vice president and private banker at City National Bank in San Diego. His financial career of more than 25 years also includes a stint at Merrill Lynch.
Rubio, with an experience of 17 years in the financial services sector, most recently was the senior vice president and senior private banker at City National Bank in San Diego. He formerly also served at U.S. Trust and First Republic.
Umpqua Bank executive vice president and head of wealth management Kent Grubaugh called Southern California a “priority market” for the bank.
“Having worked together previously as part of a successful wealth management team, Shaun, Rob, Kathy and Veronica will be tremendous assets to our long-term strategy. Together, they bring the combination of local experience, established relationships and proven leadership needed to quickly boost our market presence and make an immediate impact,” Grubaugh noted.
