Swiss investment bank UBS has unveiled top management changes in its India operations, including the appointment of Uday Odedra as the new country head for India.
Odedra is currently UBS’ group technology head in the APAC region, a role he will retain in addition to the new responsibility. He will assume the new role on 1 January 2021.
The firm’s current country head for India and Corporate Services group head Harald Egger has been nominated for the newly-created role of UBS India chairman. Egger will continue to serve as Corporate Services group head.
Odedra, who has been with the company for more than two decades, was part of the team which established the UBS Business Solution Centers in India in 2015.
UBS said that he played a key role in building its digital and technology presence in India. In 2017, he was named as the head of technology, APAC.
Odedra said: “I am very proud to lead the incredible team we have in India. We’ve come a long way in the last five years and have an exciting journey ahead of us.
