UBS has named Edmund Koh as its new president for Asia Pacific. He will replace Kathy Shih, who will retire after 32 years of tenure.

Koh is currently head of wealth management for Asia Pacific and country head Singapore. His new role will be effective from 1 January 2019, when he will also join the group executive board of UBS Group.

UBS forms tech partnership with Broadridge

Swiss wealth manager UBS has entered into a strategic partnership with Broadridge Financial to introduce a new software platform for its financial advisers in the US.

The deal comes after UBS announced that it would be targeting growth in North America earlier this month.

“Expansion in the American ultra-high net worth segment alone is expected to contribute significant net new money over the next three years”, UBS said in a statement on Thursday.

As a part of the deal, UBS Wealth Management USA will use Broadridge’s new wealth management industry platform, which leverages latest technology to optimise adviser productivity and client experience.

The platform will be used by UBS advisers and staffs for front- and back-office tasks, like opening client accounts, trade routing and order management and asset servicing.

The new Broadridge platform will include an advanced adviser desktop and customisable toolset. Its key advisory features will include performance reporting, managed accounts support, and sleeve accounting.

It also features multi-market order management and trade routing, and full back-office functionality.

The wealth platform, according to Broadridge, will be fully open with real-time data fabric and API structure, which facilitates unhindered connectivity to UBS’s proprietary and third-party applications.
