Luxury accessories brand BOTTLETOP has initiated a sustainability campaign #TOGETHERBAND with Swiss bank UBS as a founding partner.
BOTTLETOP and UBS have jointly launched the #TOGETHERBAND initiative to encourage engagement with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The campaign will be driven by the sale of 17 differently coloured wristbands, made from up-cycled ocean plastic and steel recycled from seized illegal firearms.
The bands will be sold in the pairs with the intention that the buyer wears one and passes the other on to a friend of colleague, sharing the exchange on social media.
“Our vision for this campaign was to really use design to facilitate discussion around sustainability,” says Cameron Saul, co-founder of BOTTLETOP.
“We want to use it as a global rallying cry and a touchstone for the global goals.”

By GlobalDataThe UN’s SDGs were devised in 2015 as a commitment to sustainability, in order to spread peace and prosperity and end poverty and hunger the world over by 2030.
It is estimated that it will cost $4-7 trillion a year to achieve these goals.
The #TOGETHERBAND campaign is to take the form of a 17-month countdown focusing on each of these sustainability goals.
“We are excited to be the Founding Partner of #TOGETHERBAND,” UBS CEO, Sergio Ermotti, says. “Sustainability is a priority for UBS clients and for us.
“As the leading global wealth manager, UBS already contributes to setting the standards and collaborates in and beyond our industry.
“We are particularly proud that the UBS Optimus Foundation has been selected to help fund life-changing projects with the profits from this campaign.”
“We have always believed in the power of sustainable design and creative culture to engage people powerfully in development issues,” Saul adds.
“Through #TOGETHERBAND we are thrilled to combine artisanal craftsmanship with the immediacy and reach of social media to facilitate a cross cultural conversation around the Global Goals as we engage everyone who wants to come together for a healthy future.”
