Union Bancaire Privee (UBP) has appointed Cristina Jarrin as senior portfolio manager for its convertible bonds team based in Paris.
Jarrin will specifically focus on global convertible bond portfolios in the new role.
She most recently served at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management. She joined the firm in 2010 and led its global convertible bond portfolios.
Jarrin began her career as a risk analyst at Citigroup in 1998, and later in 2005 joined BNP Paribas Investment Partners (Fortis Investments) as a product specialist for convertible bonds.
UBP head of convertible bonds team Jean-Edouard Reymond said: "Convertible bonds are historically proven to significantly improve risk-adjusted return profiles in traditional asset classes. Amid all the uncertainty and high volatility in the markets, we believe the convexity of convertible bonds offers compelling advantages.
