Swiss-banking group Syz & Co has expanded its presence in Scotland by launching a new asset management and sales arm in Edinburgh.
Located at Charlotte Square, the new office will provide asset management services as well as promote the group’s institutional strategies, available through segregated mandates and its Oyster and Syz AM fund range.
The new office will be headed by fund manager Claire Manson, who joined Syz from Franklin Templeton earlier this year.
In his new role, Manson will work alongside an analyst and business development director Derek Borthwick, who will oversee the sales activity at the new office.
Eric Syz, co-founder and managing partner of Syz & Co said that the new office launch comes as part of the company’s plans to expand its business in the UK.
"The UK is a centre of global asset management and we are keen to build our business in the market. Scotland is a very important hub for that industry and a place where some of the most talented people have always been based," added Syz.
