Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks has expanded its national footprint by establishing its private wealth management office in New York.
The bank has hired Robert Weiss to lead SunTrust Private Wealth Management’s northeast division.
Weiss has decades of experience in wealth management industry. He previously worked with J.P Morgan as a senior executive and served Bernstein as a managing director.
SunTrust Private Wealth Management head Joe Thompson said: “New York City has a combination of prospective clients, SunTrust resources and industry talent that make it an attractive market for our business.
“Robert Weiss is building an experienced team of wealth management professionals that will expand throughout the tristate area and partner with our corporate and investment banking teammates in New York City to serve the broad needs of clients.”
Four other wealth management professionals will join Weiss in the bank’s Rockefeller Center office.
