American investment manager State Street has unveiled a new analytics tool for clients investing in environmental, social and governance (ESG) offerings.
The new tool, dubbed ESGX, has been developed by State Street Global Exchange. It will offer a web platform to help clients evaluate ESG factor exposure in their portfolios as well as review reports to see how a portfolio’s ESG profile has evolved over time.

The platform also features an algorithm-based technology dubbed Arabesque S-Ray, which is powered by Arabesque.
Arabesque S-Ray has been designed to assess the sustainability performance of corporations leveraging self-learning quantitative models and data scores. The tool integrates over 200 ESG metrics with news signals from over 50,000 sources across 15 languages.
State Street Global Exchange ESG Solutions head Mark McDivitt said: “We’re consistently hearing from clients that they need reliable ways to measure exposure to non-financial ESG factors. The combination of our ESGX analytic tool and these ESG data options will give them access to data and a range of insights that hasn’t previously existed.”
