State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has appointed Rory Tobin as the sole head of its global SPDR ETF arm, replacing Nick Good who will now assume the newly created role of chief growth and strategy officer at the firm.
Tobin most recently served as the CEO and global investment and solutions head at Barclays Asset Management and before that was the co-CEO of iShares’ international unit.

He joined SSGA in 2014 and will report to the firm’s president and CEO Cyrus Taraporevala in the new role.
“Rory is an accomplished leader with vast experience and industry know-how. As global co-head of our ETF business, Rory has done a superb job growing our European franchise and enhancing our client experience. I am confident that he will continue to take our ETF business to new heights, building on our current momentum,” Taraporevala stated.
Meanwhile, Good will now work with State Street’s management committee and board of directors to drive business growth, reporting to the firm’s CFO Eric Aboaf.
Prior to joining SSGA in 2014, Good worked at BlackRock.
