German asset manager StarCapital, part of Switzerland’s Bellevue Group, has agreed to buy Mars Asset Management for an undisclosed sum.

Bad Homburg-based Mars was set up in 2013 and has been a unit of Bellevue Group since 2016. The firm specialises in multi-asset strategies with capital protection and oversaw around CHF450m in assets at the end of March 2018.

Mars will be fully integrated into StarCapital following deal completion, which is subject to regulatory approvals.

As part of the deal, Mars’ three investment specialists will move to StarCapital.

“With the acquisition of Mars Asset Management, StarCapital will be able to complete its range of expertise in the area of multi-asset strategies and further strengthen its German base,” Bellevue Group said in a statement.
