Stanhope Capital has appointed Shafik Gabr, chairman and managing director of ARTOC Group for Investment and Development to its Advisory Board.
He will join the firm in July and sit alongside other industry and finance experts including Lord Browne of Madingley, the former BP Chief Executive and Sir Martin Sorrell, Chief Executive of WPP.
Joining Stanhope Capital’s Advisory Board is the latest step in Gabr’s long and illustrious career in multi-disciplined investment and business leadership.
In addition to his role at ARTOC Group, Gabr is the Chairman and a founding member of Egypt’s International Economic Forum, a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum and also serves on Yale University President’s Council on International Activities.
He also serves on the Advisory Board of Zurich Financial Services, one of the world’s leading insurance companies.
He is a Global Leadership Council Member at the Brookings Institution, a member of the Jackson Institute Council and is an advisor to MIT’s Center for International Studies and The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
