Standard Chartered Global Private Bank has bolstered its wealth planning and family advisory services by appointing new relationship managers and team leaders.

This move aims to enhance the bank’s frontline team across its booking centres in Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE, and the UK.

Among the new additions include Derek Too, who takes on the role as head of wealth planning and family advisory in Singapore.

Too’s appointment is said to be strategic step for Standard Chartered in strengthening its wealth planning services.

He has more than 15 years of experience in advising high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals on succession planning.

Earlier, he worked at UBS, Société Générale Trust, and HSBC in Singapore. Too also has background in tax consultancy in Singapore and Australia.

The expansion of the wealth planning team is in response to the growing needs of Standard Chartered’s affluent clientele.

Standard Chartered wealth planning and family advisory global head Mike Tan said: “Intergenerational wealth transfer is increasingly a top of mind concern for many high net worth clients and their families.

“Having a dedicated wealth planning team who are well versed with the local governance structure and framework in Singapore will go a long way in supporting our clients.”

Recently, Standard Chartered strengthened its UK team by hiring three new relationship managers: Deven Thacker, Madan Mohan, and Ashwin Rodrigues. Their addition is aimed at enhancing the bank’s private banking services for ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs).
