Standard Chartered CEO of private and commercial banking Anna Marrs is set to leave the group in September this year to take up a senior role with an unnamed financial services firm in London.
Jiten Arora, regional head for commercial banking in ASEAN and South Asia, will take charge of the commercial banking arm on an interim basis till a permanent head is named.
Marrs is also the bank’s CEO for Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South Asia, a role she will continue to hold till 31 May 2018.
On 1 June 2018, this role will be handed over to Judy Hsu, who currently serves as the CEO for Singapore and ASEAN markets. Hsu will retain the role of Singapore CEO till the firm finds a replacement.
The resignation has triggered a realignment of the reporting lines, with the bank’s commercial banking arm now reporting to CEO of corporate and institutional banking, Simon Cooper.
Didier von Daeniken will continue to manage private banking and wealth management. He will report to regional CEO of Greater China and North Asia and retail banking CEO Ben Hung for his wealth responsibilities and regional CEO of Europe and Americas Tracy Clarke for private banking responsibilities.
