Standard Chartered Private Bank has appointed relationship managers and team leaders to its worldwide staff, which is spread among booking centres in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the UAE.

In recent years, the firm has been expanding the private bank in line with its goal to expand the wealthy business. Encouraging the frontline teams through targeted personnel acquisition is still essential to meeting the demands of high and ultra-high net worth (HNW and UHNW) clients.

Singapore

Nicholas Cheng, a seasoned financial professional with 30 years of experience, has joined the bank as managing director and head of private markets group. He has previously worked for major Asian and European banks, as well as UHNW and institutional limited partnerships.

Hedi Dorai, an experienced executive with over two decades of experience, has joined as executive director and relationship manager, reporting to Vijai Krovvidi, market head, private banking, global South Asian clients.

Au Soo Leng began as executive director and relationship manager, reporting to team lead Andy Chua. Soo Leng has 30 years of experience in private banking and wealth management at HSBC, where she polished her franchise building and client interaction abilities for HNW and UHNW clients.

Royston Ow Yong will join from UBS as managing director and team lead, reporting to Paterson Lau, market head, private banking in Indonesia. Yong is a qualified private banker with 25 years of experience and a proven record of attaining financial objectives and developing connections with ultra-high net worth customers in Indonesia and Singapore.

Hong Shuqin and Gabriel Koh will become director and associate relationship manager, also reporting to Lau, with Shuqin having 20 years of experience and Koh 15 years of private banking experience.

Sarah Lim, with two decades of experience in investment advisory, will join UBS as head of investment advisory, leading the ASEAN and Greater China Investment Advisory team in Singapore.

Hong Kong

Jeffrey Song, with 12 years of private banking experience, has been appointed as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to Joseph Tam.

Charlene Mak, a seasoned relationship manager for Greater China clients, joined Standard Chartered Bank in June after returning from Bank of Singapore.

Helen Tong, with 16 years of experience in Hong Kong’s leading international banks, has been appointed as managing director and relationship manager, reporting to Kin Chan, market head, private banking.

Ramon Au Yeung, with over 35 years of experience in wealth management and private banking, has been hired as executive director and relationship manager joining from Pictet Wealth Management.

UAE

Alasdair Scarr, with over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, joined the bank as executive director and relationship manager in June.

Ahmad Anabtawi, with 25 years of banking experience in the Middle East, has been recruited as executive director and relationship manager, reporting to Nash Mithani.

Furthermore, earlier last month in Singapore, Standard Chartered Bank launched its inaugural variable capital company (VCC).

The bank is able to provide a number of funds to provide its clients with exclusive access to distinctive investment strategies due to the establishment of Standard Chartered Funds VCC (SC Fund), a new business entity.
