St.Galler Kantonalbank, a Swiss cantonal bank, has appointed Hanspeter Wohlwend as its new head of private banking.
Wohlwend will take up the new responsibility on 1 March 2018, replacing Daniel Lipp who left the bank earlier this year. The division was being managed by Roland Ledergerber on an interim basis since the departure of Lipp.
Wohlwend, who has over two decades of experience in the banking industry, will also become a member of the management board at the Swiss bank. He currently works at Liechtensteinischen Landesbank.
Previously, he served at Notenstein Privatbank and its predecessor Wegelin & Co. Privatbankiers in St. Gallen, where he held the roles of COO and deputy CEO until 2015.
“The Board of Directors and the Management Board of St.Galler Kantonalbank are looking forward to working with Hanspeter Wohlwend and are convinced to have found a proven, competent personality with a perfect fit with St.Galler Kantonalbank and who will successfully further develop the Private Banking business,” St.Galler Kantonalbank said in a statement.
