British fund manager Schroders has appointed Charles Prideaux as the head of solutions, a newly created role.

Prideaux will replace John McLaughlin, who is retiring after working for 24 years at Schroders.

Prideaux will manage the Schroders Solutions business that offers advisory, customisation and risk management services to global investors.

He will take up the new responsibility on 2 October 2017 and will report to the firm’s global head of the product division Richard Mountford.

Prideaux most recently served as the head of active investments for EMEA at BlackRock. He previously also served as head of institutional client business for EMEA at BlackRock.

“Charles has significant investment solutions experience across a broad range of asset classes and I believe our clients will benefit from his talent and knowledge. We have big ambitions for our Solutions Business and I look forward to working with Charles and building on this well-established and highly regarded business,” Mountford stated.
