Rothschild & Cie Gestion, a France-based asset management company, has opened a branch in Milan, Italy.
Alessio Coppola, who previously worked for independent asset management company Anima SGR, has been named Italy country head, Investment Europe has reported.
According to the publication, the French asset manager will launch on the Italian market with AUM of 22 billion and aims at developing its business focusing on long-term relationships with its clients and a range of mutual funds investing in stocks, Euro-area corporate bonds, balanced and global flexible.
Investment Europe quoted Coppola saying: "We aim at standing out on the Italian market thanks to our management strategy which has allowed us to become leaders in the French retail and institutional markets.
"Institutional investors and private clients are increasingly interested in identifying professional managers able to generate profits. We will be looking at building a team entirely dedicated to the Italian market," he added.
