France is the fifth largest economy in the world and second largest in Europe, with a GDP of US$2.6 trillion in 2010. The French economy is relatively diversified with large manufacturing, FMCG and retail & fashion sectors.

Retail and fashion and FMCG are the two main industries through which UHNWIs have accumulated their wealth, serving as the source of wealth for 17.7% and 14.2% of UHNWIs, respectively.
