Based in London, Samuels will report to Igor Vayn, CEO of Renaissance Capital.

Prior to Renaissance, Samuels held various senior positions in equities and equity distribution at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he spent 15 years building out and managing the emerging markets business, as well as running the pan-European equity sales desk, from both New York and London.

Commenting on the appointment, Vayn said: "We are pleased that a professional of this calibre has become our new head of equities. Samuels has deep experience in the investment banking industry, as well as in emerging markets where Renaissance Capital works the most; and with this appointment we continue to strengthen our franchise across Russia, Asia and Africa.

"We wish Ben every success in his new role, and believe he will bring tremendous judgment to this important part of our business, improving our ability to anticipate market opportunities for clients," Vayn added.
