South Africa HNWIs - asset allocations

South Africa – HNWIs asset allocations: With an annual GDP of US$403, South Africa has Africa’s highest number of HNWIs – over 44,700 – holding a combined wealth of US$188 billion in 2011.

Positively influenced by a strong local property market, real estate is the largest asset class for South Africa HNWIs, followed by foreign equities. Alternative allocations have been boosted by a strong gold and general commodities market. However, going forward, we expect a movement away from real estate, cash and fixed-income investments, towards equities and business interests. View more data or Buy full report
