Luxembourg-based Quintet Private Bank has appointed Philip Tremble as group chief risk officer and member of the authorised management committee, subject to regulatory approval.
Assuming his role on 15 March 2021, Tremble joins from HSBC where he served as chief risk officer, global private banking, for eight years.
Tremble’s appointment coincides with Quintet’s pursuit of a long-term growth strategy, recruiting individuals across all operations as it enters new markets around the world. In 2020, the private bank hired over 350 new staff despite a turbulent market.
Graduating from Sheffield University with a degree in Economics & Econometrics, Tremble spent thirty years at HSBC in senior risk roles in both London and New York.
Tremble will replace Anthony Swings, who joined Quintet in 2002, served as group chief risk officer since 2018.
Explaining Tremble’s suitability for the role, Jakob Stott – group CEO – commented: “As he has proven across his distinguished banking career, through the ups and downs of many business cycles, Phil knows how to manage risk.
