Pictet Asset Management has named Junjie Watkins as the new CEO for Asia ex-Japan, replacing Amy Cho.
Last year, Cho joined Schroders as the CEO for its Hong Kong business.
Watkins most recently worked as the head of investment solutions for Asia at TCW Asia.
She previously also worked as the head of investment solutions for Greater China at Neuberger Berman.
Early in her career, she worked at Lehman Brothers.
In the new role, she will be in charge of business development and client-related issues in the region.
She will operate out of Hong Kong.
Pictet Asset Management’s Asia ex-Japan operations include Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.
The business oversaw around $186bn in assets at the end of March 2019.
Additionally, Pictet Asset Management appointed Nobel Gulati to its board as a non-executive director.
The firm’s board is now a seven-member team. It includes Pictet Asset Management chairman Renaud de Planta, who replaced Pictet senior partner Nicolas Pictet earlier this year.
The board also includes Pictet Asset Management CEO Laurent Ramsey.
Gulati previously worked at Two Sigma, where he spent 12 years.
Assets under management at Two Sigma is said to have increased from $3bn to $60bn during his stint.
Besides, he sits on the executive board of academic research centre Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative.
