Ostrum Asset Management, formerly known as Natixis Asset Management, has appointed Jean-Louis Scandella as its new equity CIO.
Scandella will be responsible for strengthening Ostrum’s European and emerging market equity capabilities.
He will be in charge of the firm’s equity portfolio management teams based in Paris and Singapore. The teams comprise 27 professionals managing more than €23.6bn in assets.
In the new role, he will report to the firm’s deputy CEO, CIO and executive committee member Ibrahima Kobar.
Scandella joins from Barings Asset Management, where he served as the head of equities.
He previously also worked at Societe Generale, with responsibility for developing its European emerging markets business in London, and as emerging markets portfolio manager at Comgest.
The rebranding of Natixis Asset Management to Ostrum was first announced in March this year. Ostrum is part of Natixis Investment Managers.
