Old Mutual International (OMI), a subsidiary of Old Mutual Wealth, has appointed Ian Kloss as the new CEO for its Singapore business, replacing Steve Hickman who decided to depart to pursue opportunities outside the group.
Kloss joined the firm in August 2014 in the role of area sales manager in Hong Kong, with responsibility for developing the region’s key broker relationships. As a US expat, he led a campaign in the region to raise awareness of the hardships faced by US expats regarding pension savings.
OMI described Singapore as the firm’s “core growth market”. As Singapore CEO, Kloss will focus on developing the firm’s growth strategy in Singapore, expanding its distribution opportunities as well as expanding its offering to a wider audience.
In addition, he will also support the firm’s relationship with private banks and other institutions.
OMI sales director Brendan Dolan said: “I would like to congratulate Ian on his well-deserved promotion. His in-depth knowledge of the Asian market will be a real asset and his unfettered enthusiasm will help the team grow our business in the region.
“We remain committed to the advice sector and to our multi-channel distribution strategy in the Singapore region.”
