American investment management firm Northern Trust has named Sally Surgeon as head of its recently launched Sydney office.

Surgeon will oversee industry, client and consultant relationships in the city. She will report to the firm’s head of the Australasia region Madeleine Senior.

In addition to her new responsibility, she will also continue to serve as the firm’s head of client services in Australasia.

Surgeon, who has an experience of over 20 years in the financial services sector, has been working at Northern Trust since 2005. She was previously based in Northern Trust’s in London office and most recently in the Melbourne office.

“We continue to see an increasing demand for our range of innovative institutional-level asset servicing and asset management solutions across Australasia. Sally has been instrumental in growing our client base across the region and we are delighted to appoint her to lead our Sydney office where, drawing on her experience, she will focus on continuing to deepen relationships with our clients and the industry and drive momentum for our expanding business,” Senior stated.

The Sydney office, which is Northern Trust’s second office in Australia, alongside its Melbourne office provide asset servicing, asset management and capital markets solutions to institutional and investment managers.
