NN Investment Partners (NN IP), a Dutch asset manager, has introduced a new fund that aims to serve investors seeking stable and long term income alongside low credit risk.
The new strategy, dubbed the NN (L) Emerging Markets Debt Short Duration Hard Currency Fund, will invest in US dollar-denominated debt instruments of emerging market sovereign and corporate issuers.
The fund’s assets will have an average duration of one to three years and an average current yield of nearly 4%.
The vehicle will be managed by the firm’s portfolio manager of EMD corporate debt, Annemieke Coldeweijer, and portfolio manager of EMD hard currency, Jared Lou.
NN IP head of emerging market debt Marcelo Assalin said: “Monetary policies in developed markets are expected to gradually tighten and to have potentially impact on returns of fixed income assets. Investors who are willing to mitigate such a risk factor will appreciate the Fund’s strategy of providing stable income, with low volatility and low credit risk.”
