Neuberger Berman, a US-based investment management firm, has expanded its presence in Latin America by opening new office in Bogota, Colombia.

The new Colombia office, which marks as the firm’s second location in Latin America, will be led by Mauricio Barreto.

In his new role, Barreto will oversee the firm’s client efforts in Colombia alongside Maximiliano Rohm, who leads the firm’s efforts in Latin America.

In addition, Barreto will also work together with Ana Maria Roa Sarmiento to serve the local investment community.

Neuberger Berman head of EMEA and Latin America Dik van Lomwel said: "We have been working closely with Colombia’s sophisticated institutions for a number of years and want to further express our commitment to the region by establishing this local presence."

Neuberger Berman, which is currently based in 18 countries globally, has already opened an office in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2011.
