Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (MSSB) president
Greg Fleming has appointed a new chief operating officer (COO) as
part of a leadership restructure at the world’s second largest
wealth manager.
Former COO of JP Morgan’s Worldwide Securities
Services business Jeff Hack rejoins MSSB as COO, reporting to
Fleming.
In this new role, Hack will be responsible for
global risk management and oversee MSSB’s technology and operations
integration activities, along with overall performance of the
business.
Prior to JP Morgan, Hack spent 10 years at
Smith Barney in positions including chief financial officer and
COO.

memo.
In other changes, Craig Pfeiffer, head of
marketing and the client experience, will become vice chairman of
MSSB.
Ben Huneke, head of the office of business
management for US wealth management, will become head of strategy
and business management for MSSB. Importantly, Huneke will handle
liaison with MSSB’s international businesses.
