Mizuho Securities has integrated voice recognition and artificial intelligence (AI) technology of Nomura Research Institute (NRI) into its call monitoring operation to improve compliance.
Mizuho made the move following a proof of concept last year, which revealed that the system slashed monitoring time significantly.
The technology, which has been personalised to Mizuho’s unique needs, will be used by the firm to monitor and assess communication between investors and sales representatives.
Developed from NRI’s “TRAINA VOICE Digest”, the technology tracks conversation data and extracts the parts of conversations that require monitoring.
NRI managing director Masaaki Yamazaki said: “Demand continues to increase for AI solutions to traditional financial services operations, and NRI works to make sure that we are at the forefront of research and application of AI for the industry.”
