Merus Global Investments, a New York-based investment firm, has set up an office in Boca Raton, Florida.

The company also appointed Seth Setrakian and Roger Egbert as its new senior managing directors and partners. The pair will spearhead a new eight-member team in Florida.

Prior to that, Setrakian worked for around 15 years at First New York Capital Management and served as the firm’s co-head of global equities. He previously also had stints as a partner at Seneca Capital and in the corporate finance group at Arthur Andersen.

Merus Global Investments CEO and senior managing partner Joseph Monte said: “We’re also excited to expand our geographic footprint into Florida, which offers an abundant base of high-caliber trading talent, an excellent quality of life and a very favorable business and tax environment in which to operate.”
