Mercer, a consulting and investment firm owned by Marsh & McLennan Companies, has introduced a new fund rating service for individual investors and their financial advisers in Singapore.
The new service, called Mercer FundWatch, will make all ratings and research reports publicly available online.
Mercer investment research strategy leader Beverley Sharp said: “The dynamic of the wealth landscape is changing rapidly. Individual investors are taking on greater responsibility for their long-term savings to fund their retirement years.
“Mercer FundWatch is intended to give those investors and their financial advisers access to high-quality analysis on funds that has typically been available to institutional investors.”
The new rating service is said to utilise a research methodology that evaluates fund characteristics and their performance over the market cycle. The service will be supported by the company’s global investment research.
Asian wealth expert Janet Li said: “I am thrilled this service is launching in Singapore, where individual investors and their financial advisers are investment savvy, aware of the importance of self-funding retirement, and are looking for tools to help them with that goal.”
