Manulife Investment Management (IM) has appointed Alex Catterick as senior managing director of high-net-worth (HNW) strategy for private markets.
Catterick, in this newly created position, will be in charge of defining the private markets global HNW strategy and managing the development.
He will also be responsible for the launch and growth of new offerings for the company’s HNW investors base.
Manulife IM global head of private markets Steve Blewitt said: “We are thrilled to have Alex take the reins in this new role.
“We have one of the most diverse set of private market capabilities in the industry and HNW investors represent one of the fastest growing channels. Alex’s expertise will be instrumental as we enter this exciting new chapter for the business connecting HNW investors with strategies that were historically only available for institutional investors.”
Catterick has over two decades of experience in alternative investment, wealth management and capital markets.

Manulife IM provides private asset investment capabilities across private equity and credit, infrastructure, real estate, timberland, and agriculture to investors worldwide. It manages over $100bn in AUMA on behalf of clients.
In November last year, the company acquired a minority stake in Hong Kong-based private equity infrastructure investment manager Albamen Capital Partners.
