Man Group, a UK-based alternative investment management firm, has named Steven Desmyter as head of responsible investment and chairman of its responsible investment committee.
As responsible investment head, Desmyter will spearhead the firm’s efforts in incorporating environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) considerations in investment.
In addition to taking up the new responsibilities, he will also retain his existing roles as the firm’s executive committee member and head of sales across EMEA.
At the same time, the firm also named Jason Mitchell as sustainability strategist.
Mitchell will be tasked with integrating extra-financial factors and sustainability themes into investment processes across various asset classes.
Apart from the new role, Mitchell will continue his existing role as a member of the firm’s European and international equity teams.
