The double taxation agreement (DTA) was signed on June 28, 1993 in Moscow by the two countries.
The new amendment was signed in response to the efforts on the part of the Luxembourg government to improve provisions contained in the old treaty.
The latest agreement reduces the tax levied on dividends from 10% to 5%, thereby increasing Luxembourg’s an attractiveness as a jurisdiction for structuring investments in Russia.
