Asset management firm Lazard has appointed Will Lawes as a managing director in Financial Advisory.

Lawes will be based in London, responsible for advising FTSE 100 and other boards on strategic and financial matters. He will take over the new role on 9 January.

Lawes joins Lazard from law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he joined in 1986 and became partner in 1994. At the law firm, he most recently served as the senior partner (executive chairman), a role he held since January 2011. Before that he served as the firm’s co-head of the financial institutions group for six years.

Lazard London CEO William Rucker said: “Will is one of the most respected advisors in the City, having spent over twenty-five years counseling management teams and boards of the UK’s largest companies.

“His expertise will be of tremendous advantage not only to our clients, but also to our colleagues in London and globally.”
