Julius Baer has made several management changes, including the appointment of a new CEO for its wealth management joint venture (JV) in Thailand.
Lalitphat Toranavikrai has been named as the new chief of SCB Julius Baer, the Swiss bank’s Thai JV with Siam Commercial Bank (SCB). She assumes the responsibility with immediate effect.
Toranavikrai worked for 12 years at SCB, latterly as the head of its Private Banking and FIRST Division.
Earlier, she worked at RBS Coutts in Singapore and BNP Paribas Thailand.
Referring to Toranavikrai, SCB CEO Arthid Nanthawithaya said: “She is deeply familiar with the evolving needs of the sophisticated Thailand-based clients.
“She brings with her very strong domestic knowledge and extensive experience which will be vital as we continue our ambitious plans to grow and develop the Thai wealth management business for the joint venture.”

The bank also appointed Emmanuel Debons as the head of French-speaking Switzerland.
His remit includes the private banking clients business of the bank in French-speaking Switzerland along with Geneva, Lausanne, Sion, Crans Montana, and Verbier branches.
Debons’ tenure at Julius Baer started in 2014. He previously had a 25-year stint at UBS’ private banking arm.
Market head of Italy & Ticino
Ettore Bonsignore has been appointed as the market head of Italy & Ticino at Julius Baer and will head the bank’s Lugano branch.
He has been working at Julius Baer since last October in the role of Italy market head. He will now take on the additional responsibility for Ticino, which is an Italian-speaking region in Switzerland.
He formerly led the Private Banking division at PKB Privatbank Lugano.
He also worked at Credit Suisse, where he was the regional head of Swiss Domestic Clients in Lugano and head of Private Banking Italy in Milan.
Both Debons and Bonsignore were handed over their new roles on the 1st of this month.
Julius Baer has a workforce of more than 500 in Western Switzerland and around 200 in Ticino.
