French asset manager iM Global Partner has purchased a 45% stake in American liquid alternatives manager Dynamic Beta investments. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
New York-based Dynamic Beta, formerly called Beachhead Capital, provides equity hedge, managed futures and multi-asset/stable return strategies. Its vehicles are designed to mirror large hedge funds’ strategies at lower fees.
iM Global Partner chairman and CEO Philippe Couvrecelle said: “Dynamic Beta investments has developed a proven, clearly articulated, research-driven investment process to deliver outstanding risk/return profiles with daily liquidity and lower fees than traditional hedge funds.
“Our deep dive into the liquid alternatives space showed that Dynamic Beta investments’ expertise is unique.”
Together, the two companies plan to develop new investment solutions to become a “major player” in the US and international liquid alternatives asset space.
iM Global Partner US COO and head of distribution Jeff Seeley said: “Dynamic Beta investments’ product suite can provide a compelling solution for institutions, financial advisors, RIAs, high net worth clients and intermediary model portfolios – whether through ETFs, separately managed accounts or signal delivery to UMA platforms – to target capital protection and generate positive returns during bear markets.”
